Our mission is to provide resources and support to local growers to connect and build healthier communities. Our vision is for an equitable, local food ecosystem in which everyone can participate and benefit.

In 2015, Jim Kennedy, chair of Cox Enterprises, and Bill Bolling, founder of the Atlanta Community Food Bank, had an idea to build healthier communities across metro Atlanta by connecting and supporting members of our local food movement. Food Well Alliance exists to bring this vision to life. Today, we support more than 120 community gardens and 35 urban farms in Fulton, DeKalb, Cobb, Gwinnett, and Clayton counties.

For the Greener Good

Park Pride is a nonprofit organization that engages communities in their neighborhood parks through volunteer projects, community gardens, community-led park redesigns and by providing grants for capital park improvements. Since 1989, Park Pride has been active in greenspace advocacy by educating civic leaders and the general public about the benefits of parks.

Since 1989, Park Pride is the only Atlanta-based nonprofit that provides programs and leadership to help communities realize their dreams for neighborhood parks.

We have partnered with more than 100 Friends of the Park groups to spearhead volunteer projects, community gardens, community-led park redesign, and to provide grants for parks. Park Pride has helped invest millions of dollars for park improvements, supported over 250 park initiatives across the city, and worked with energetic neighborhood groups to plant over 20 community gardens.

PATH Foundation

Since 1991, the PATH Foundation has been transforming the landscape of the greater metropolitan Atlanta area.  By skillfully combining philanthropic, public, and other funding sources, PATH has turned abandoned railroad corridors into beautiful linear greenspaces, linked neighborhoods to bustling commercial centers, and provided alternative modes of transportation for joggers, walkers, cyclists, and people of all ages.  To date, more than 314 miles of multi-use PATH trails have been built, making an immeasurable difference in Atlanta’s quality of life.

PATH forms partnerships with local governments to build greenway trails. PATH provides a knowledgeable staff and consultants to plan, design, and build trail projects. In some cases, PATH provides matching funds to finance the development of trails. Local governments provide access to state and federal funding, rights-of-way for trails, and in-kind services during trail development.

The mission of Wylde Center is to support resilient communities by connecting people to nature through environmental education and public greenspace.

Wylde Center accomplishes this through educational programs, events and greenspaces that actively engage youth, families and individuals in their environment, health and community, and that develop skills in environmental science, sustainable urban living, organic gardening, health, and nutrition.

Wylde Center was founded in 1997 out of a need to provide opportunities to experience nature in an urban environment. As a result of the community’s involvement and commitment, the organization has evolved into a large and active nonprofit organization operating five greenspaces (Oakhurst Garden, Sugar Creek Garden, Hawk Hollow, Edgewood Community Learning Garden, and the Mulberry Fields Garden) in four different Decatur and Atlanta neighborhoods, open year round for the community, for events and for Wylde Center’s educational programs.

Additionally, Wylde Center provides one of the largest youth environmental and science education programs in metro-Atlanta, including the Decatur Farm to School program, Atlanta Farm to School, Healthy Living by Healthy Growing at the Decatur Housing Authority, and science program and field trips linked to Common Core standards.
